eisriesenwelt

We're in Salzburg at the moment, but decided to catch the train to Werfen today to see the largest ice cave in the world. It's a very steep walk from the ticket sales to the cave entrance, and unfortunately you can only view the cave with guides and no photos are allowed. There were no English guides available at the time, so we had to go with the German group. The guides also move so fast through the cave that it's almost impossible to admire the beauty of the thing, you just got to watch your step and keep climbing... In other words really not a great experience, for a lot of money and physical exertion.

However, on the walk up to the cave, it started snowing. This is the first time I've seen snow fall, so in that sense the trip was worth it.
