another food court

On my last day in Singapore, I had lunch with some colleagues at another local food court. I had an absolutely delicious Thai green curry.

My final thoughts on Singapore... the heat is unbearable! But the food is absolutely amazing. And not surprising, the best and most flavorful meals were in fact at the less expensive restaurants and food courts. I would eat myself to death if I lived in this city. There are so many restaurants and food courts everywhere, and so much good food! Especially the rows and rows of curry restaurants.

I love the mix of cultures, the fact that you can be in a area that feels completely chinese, the food, the people and the shops. And a small train ride later you're in an area that feels completely indian. It's two completely different worlds in one city, right next to each other.

I thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Singapore, and would recommend it to anybody who loves food.

sankranti

On monday night we went to Little India for dinner at Sankranti. Fantastic curry's.

After dinner we walked through Mustafa centre, a huge shop with rows and rows of food stuff. If I ever come to Singapore again, this would be my first stop to buy ingredients.

Finally we finished off the day with dinner at Clarke Quay.

Streets and streets of shops and indian restaurants... absolute heaven for me because I love curry!

walking around

Some pictures of buildings, streets and shops while walking around.

china town

On sunday I spent the day exploring the city on foot, first stop China Town. Unfortunately I was a little early and many of the shops were still closed... The streets and shops were filled with decorations for the chinese new year celebrations, the year of the monkey.

bugis street

I had the privilege of spending a week in Singapore for work. On saturday afternoon we spent a few hours walking around between Clarke Quay and Bugis street, followed by dinner at Wing Seong Fatty's. The clay pot chili chicken was absolutely delicious.

First impression of Singapore, it's so hot and humid, you can't survive without aircon, and there are restaurants and food courts everywhere!
