the attic

Found this on the cool hunter. Very nice indeed...

We've started looking at bathroom renovations for our home. Unfortunately the costs of doing anything "out of the ordinary" are absolutely astonishing! And we've got very limited space available, which certainly puts a bathroom like this out of reach.

grasshopper momo

I have been absolutely dreadfull at updating the blog during the past few weeks. I have just had too much work to do, so there was no time to search for great and amazing stuff.

I still don't have much time at the moment, but will try and make more of an effort again.

So, to start this of again, one of my favourite interests, prefab housing. Grasshopper MOMO (Modern Module House Concept) are designed by Swedish architect Thomas Lind. You can combine modules to create your own house. Very, very nice...

esao andrews

It's been a while since I've done one of these, so I'll ease into it with a site that does not contain a mountain of information (like some of the other sites I've had up here).

Esao Andrews is a very talented artist, with a very interesting web site. Make sure to move your mouse around on the flash animations, and don't forget to have a look at the archives.

elmanco

Unfortunately Elmanco is in a foreign language, but Google Translate (Italian to English) seems to work pretty well. There are some interesting things under gadgets, and as always, don't forget to have a look at the kitchen and architecture sections.

Speaking of kitchen stuff, have a look at this great knife set I found on Amazon...

thecoolhunter

Mmmm, thecoolhunter has many, many pretty things to look at. Only go there when you have lots of time to browse, but when you do go, make sure to have a look at the travel section, and the design wine article.

And since we're now living in a "village" where every second person seems to surf, have a look at the article on surfing in Munich.

swissmiss and bblinks

swissmiss, a swiss designer gone nyc, has a lot of beautiful design stuff on her blog. There are some really usefull things, as well as a good dose of the "amazing but will never buy" type of items. Don't forget to have a look at the kitchen stuff...

And then there's bblinks. Also some very interesting things there, like the guilt trip cookie below, and the Ring House (Tokyo, Japan)

file magazine

File Magazine, a collection of unexpected photography. It's brilliant... really.

And another photographer Joshua Dalsimer.

core77

It's been another hectic week at work, and unfortunately I don't have much time at the moment, so I'll just point to Core77 "Industrial Design Supersite". They have everything from "lawn furniture" to toasters.

eneri

Eneri (for Irene in reverse) was one of our very first favourite sites, many years ago when it was still the Eneriwomaninterface (in 1999 according to her site!) It's a very well designed portfolio of Irene Chan, who is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

I still remember waiting 10 minutes or more for the "big" flash files to download via our 56k modem in those days. It was always worth the wait...

pepperpages

I've found some really nice web sites at Pepperpages, like Pawel Fabjanski and Sonja Mueller (great site navigation), under the photography section.

And then, just for interest sake, two other photographers I found a long time ago (not from Pepperpages), Andrea Giacobbe and Elena Getzieh.

magwerk

MagWerk has 4 online magazines on their site, of which the art and design magazine Encore is my favourite. They also keep the back issues of each magazine online, which (at the moment) gives you 30 Encore magazines to browse through and enjoy.

website design awards

Website Design Awards is essentially a catalog of well designed web sites, mostly artist and company portfolios, like Andrey Snak or Parasol Island. They also have a blog which they update quite often.

Another interesting site is Semillero. I think it's a spanish site because the babel fish translation of "semillero" from spanish to english means "seed plot", which almost makes sense. Anyway I'm not 100% sure that it is a portfolio, but it's done really well, so certainly worth a look.

monsters and creatures

Stefan Bucher has drawn 100 monsters at Daily Monster, it's brilliant, and very entertaining to watch him in action.

And then there's Andrew Bell, with the Creatures in my Head.

Enjoy!

design spotter

This weeks site is design spotter. Again, there is lots and lots to see, but I like the furniture, hotels and architecture the most.

Pictured below is a interior light, simple, and in my opinion, brilliant.

deviantART

deviantART is digital art, graphic design and photography. So many things to see, so little time...

This picture was taken by angelreich (on deviantART) or Marcin Stawiarz (in real life, i think?)

moco loco - modern contemporary design

The MoCo Loco slogan says it all. As always I like the architecture section. But the site has lots of other nice stuff to look at, like the appliances and kitchens.

pop experiment

Pop Experiment has been one of my favourite sites for a very, very long time. The contributors on the site have a real eye for unique artists, photographers and musicians. I have discovered lots of really creative sites here, and some good music sites like eMusic, where you can buy loads and loads of independent music. I've also discovered some really strange bands here, like CocoRosie, which takes some time to "get into".

inhabitat - the world you live in

Green Design is Good Design
Good Design is Green Design...

This weeks interesting site is Inhabitat. Beautiful products, articles and photos, with the main focus being on sustainable design. Have a look at the prefab housing, or these memory sticks...
