We've spent the last few days exploring the area around Achensee, specifically Pertisau, Maurach and Achenkirch. The surrounding mountains, forests, rivers and the lake are really beautiful and scenic, but everything seems to be very "touristy". Lots of guest houses, spas, restaurants and some gift shops. Not really our "thing"... we prefer the quieter places.
