orienteering at lebanon (middle distance)

We spent the weekend at Oak Lane cottages, in Grabouw, for the SA orienteering championships. Very nice location, and a beautiful area, will definitely go back.

On to the racing. Friday went really well for me, and not so well for some of the runners who usually run circles around me, with the end result that I finished in 7th place. I wasn't feeling very good before the race, I've been having problems in my lower stomach for weeks now, and have also been really stiff for about 2 weeks (due to a silly speed session). But during the race almost everything felt good, I knew where I was, and where I was going, the map was very good, and my legs felt ok. Only small mistakes, missing controls by 5-10 meters, a very nice run.
