orienteering at lebanon (long distance)

Complete disaster today. I had set myself a goal of finishing within 2 hours, and the entire race went pretty much spot on, I was surprisingly accurate finding the controls, small mistake going past no 8, and lost a little time missing no 9 by a few meters, was in the right area for no 18, but had to search a little to find it, and then a colossal blunder at no 21.

It's really not a difficult control when you're looking at the right feature (the gully), but when you're too high up and looking at the rocks then you're stuffed. It took me 22 minutes to get the control, and due to this one mistake, I finished in 2:16. I'm not very happy about it, and I haven't made such a huge (basic) mistake in years... very disappointed. At least I know most of the race went well, and my fitness should have been ok for a sub 2 hour result.

A note on the terrain, it is absolutely fantastic, nice and difficult, the way I like it. There are areas with absolutely no visible features, or very tricky features. The mappers did a fantastic job!
