vindoux

This was our second stay at Vindoux in Tulbagh, and it was even better than the first time. We also had a little more time to explore, and found some real gems.

On the way there we drove through Stellenbosch, and did the Grappa tasting at the Wilderer distillery followed by lunch at the Pappa Grappa restaurant. Seriously potent drinks, a little too strong for me, but the food was excellent! Then it was of to the amazing Bain's Kloof Pass again. I still think it's the most beautiful mountain pass in South Africa, and each time it just gets more amazing. There was so many small waterfalls and streams next to the road, and the views are just the best.

The next day we spent the morning swimming in the pools below the huge waterfall just outside Tulbagh, and then walked around the lower part of town browsing the shops, and tasting chocolates at Moniki's Belgian chocolates. We also had one of the best steaks ever for dinner at Paddagang.

The last day on our way home we drove through to Riebeek Kasteel for olives, and more olives, and then took a easy drive back home, with one quick stop at the very small village of Philadelphia. We'll have to drop in there again, it looks interesting.
