Some photos and the map from the orienteering event at Steenbras Dam last weekend. Clear skies, but a very chilly wind, and lots of water to run through in the forest. Still my absolute favourite area for orienteering. But I'm soo unfit at the moment, it's terrible...

Thanks for the very entertaining blog and great pictures. Are You going to Big5 orienteering week? I wanted to travel to South Africa and take part of it, but travel agency's deadline to sign up for this trip ended. However I am still watching orienteerin maps and pictures from Cape Town, Mpumalanga and Kruger and that's why I found Your pages :)

Always nice to hear from other orienteers in the world! And I'm very glad you like the photos.
I won't be going to the Big5 orienteering week, mainly because I stopped training about a year ago so I am very unfit at the moment (I'm walking all the events at the moment).
But I would definitely recommend it. I've been to orienteering events in Belfast (and here) and also in Sabie, both very beautiful areas. And the events here in Cape Town are always in nice areas.
Hope we'll see you down here one day...
