orienteering at steenbras dam

Steenbras Dam is still my favourite area in Grabouw, for scenery and orienteering. Last sunday's event was very windy, but still very enjoyable. I had a fairly clean run/walk, except for a very big mistake from no 8 to 9, I had the perfect plan on the way there, but then started doubting my location when I saw a control along the way, after about 6 minutes messing around I realised I was on the right route, but it messed with my approach to no 10 as well, the rest was all good.

We were planning to have a picnic at Steenbras Dam after the event, but the wind spoilt things, so we drove out to Greyton in stead, and had a nice day there...
