Yesterday's score race at Flying Jumps on the R44 near Stellenbosch, was a very fun event. There were 29 controls in a very small area, which you could fetch in any order, and the winner is the person who got the most controls in one hour, or the person who got all controls in the shortest time.
I managed to get all controls in around 47 minutes, which is about one control every 1 minute 40 seconds. The race is a bit of a blur, I think I did ok with the navigation, the only big problem was finding no 21, and no 23, the rest was ok.
Once again my biggest weakness was highlighted very clearly in this race. I can't run in the heat. It just kills me completely. Not sure if it's a mental or physical thing, but I just don't enjoy it. I'd take running in the cold and rain any day over running in the heat.
