orienteering at jonkershoek

Margaret and Martin planned a excellent orienteering event at Jonkershoek, Stellenbosch, yesterday. 27 Controls scattered all over tricky, and very runnable forest, I really enjoyed this event very much.

I had a fairly clean run too, the usual small mistakes here and there, couldn't get the distance right going from no 10 to no 11, and really battled with no 18. I always get things wrong in that part of the forest, there are so many boulders and other features there. I make a point out of going slow there and checking everything very carefully, and I still can't get it right.

But I'm very happy with my run. It felt like I was really picking up speed from no 19 onwards. And the weather was awesome, nice and cool with some very light misty rain... perfect really.
