back home

After a long and very busy week, it was good to get back home.

Besides all the eating and friends, I also had a few meetings, and managed to get a lot of stuff organised for work. All and all I think it was a fairly successful trip, although I could have used a little more time to see more people and do more stuff, but spending too much time away from home is also not fun.

Seeing the sights in Johannesburg again, has definitely confirmed that we have made the right decision to move to Cape Town. Yes, there are things we miss, the book shops, the deli's, the curry. But we'll find replacements for those in Cape Town.

Johannesburg will however, never have vast amounts of mountains, nature reserves and oceans to play in. It will also never have scenic little towns in close proximity (less than 2 hours drive).

Because Johannesburg is about money. You can see it by the number of new developments and changes in the landscape in the few (9) months we've been away.

I don't think we'll ever go back...
