overwhelming

We've finally moved into our new house, in Kommetjie "village" (or so they seem to refer to it around here). We're both very tired and stiff from moving stuff around, packing in and packing out.

Kommetjie "village" seems to be a very nice suburb. There are lots of surfer / beach / ocean types walking barefoot in the shops, old rusted cars (and new luxury ones), fishing boats on trailers, kids screaming and playing in the streets (which I don't particularly enjoy, but it is an indication that the area is safe).

The house however, is a total dump. We have a huge amount of work to do. The cabinet doors are falling off (in the kitchen and bedrooms), the windows need attention, most of the interior bedroom doors are stuffed, the tap for the washing machine doesn't work, the kitchen floor needs to be re-done, the bathroom is terrible, and the garden... (sigh)

It's going to cost a lot of money and time to fix this place, but, you can hear the ocean from time to time!
