noordhoek country fair

We decided to go have a look at the Noordhoek Farm Village this afternoon, but on the way there we stumbled upon the Noordhoek Country Fair which seemed to be pretty big, so a detour was in order. There was a big variety of stuff to look at, and the setting for the fair was very scenic.

The markets in cape town sell much more food than the markets in johannesburg, which are dominated by junk. And the food is really good, even the healthy organic stuff tastes fantastic.

The people at the markets are also much more laid back than up north. It almost feels like Johannesburg 10 years ago. You can still see hippies with dreadlocks and people wearing tie die, funky people with funky clothes and funky hair and "normal" people too. It doesn't feel like the pretentious "fashion shows" that some of the markets in johannesburg have become. People seem to be a little more human down here, more themselves, it's nice.
